Walking Tour of Essex Village

July 25 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

$5

History hits the streets! Join the Essex Historical Society (EHS) for a Walking Tour of Essex Village. Knowledgeable guides will bring history alive and talk about the working waterfront of Essex and its ship-building prominence in the early 19th century as well as its development as a beautiful visitor destination of today. The tour begins at the foot of Main Street at the entrance to the Connecticut River Museum, and wraps up in front of our place! Cocktails and dinner anyone? 🙂  Each tour lasts about an hour over fairly level terrain. The tours are perfect for life-long-learners and those who like a little exercise with their history! To enjoy the full tour while maintaining social distancing, walkers receive individual audio devices with disposable earpieces. $5 per tour; free to EHS members.  The general public and families are welcome.  The tour is by reservation and will be limited to the first 30 people. To reserve your spot, please email mjosefiak@essexhistory.org.  Reservation emails will be returned on July 23. For more info: www.essexhistory.org
