Spring Wine Series

The Griswold Inn’s Wine Bar & Bistro resumes its popular wine series which is both informal and informative. Each event features a knowledgeable guest presenter who will offer three or four wines for tasting, guiding us so we can more fully appreciate what’s in our glass! One of our chefs will provide small plates for pairing and give a brief cooking demonstration as well. Events begin at 5:45 p.m. and last approximately an hour. There is a $30 fee for participation (plus tax and gratuity) and advance reservations are required, 860.767.1776. Sessions are as follows:

Thursday, March 20th: Austin Hope Wines SOLD OUT

The Hope Family has been farming in Paso Robles since 1978. It is one of the top wine-growing regions for quality red and white wines within California’s Central Coast. Hope Family Wines was named “American Winery of the Year” by Wine Enthusiast magazine’s annual Wine Star Awards in 2022.

Thursday, March 27th: Wines for Spring SOLD OUT 

We’re offering an opportunity to identify four specific varietals that are unique in style from various places and terroirs of the world. These Spring wines tend to have lighter texture and body with less alcohol. They are perfect to feature for outdoor events, picnics and barbecues. 

Thursday, April 3rd: Penfolds Winery SOLD OUT

Since 1844, Penfolds has been driven by visionary winemakers and wine pioneers who dreamed big in Australia.  They have received many accolades through the years including “Winery of the Year” from Wine & Spirits Magazine and Wine Enthusiast magazine. Known for their robust reds in Australia and California, they have become one of the most celebrated wineries of the world.
