Experience Essex from the water perspective and take a cruise on the Connecticut River. As boaters ourselves we’ve logged many hours on this waterway and each time marvel at how very special it is: the time around sunset is magical!

You may choose between two completely different vessels to enjoy the River! Both are docked at the Connecticut River Museum, mere steps from our front door!

+ Onrust, a cool-looking sailing vessel, very sturdy and sea-worthy, is a re-creation of the vessel Adriaen Block built in 1614 on which he sailed up the Connecticut River. It uses both motor and sail during the excursions.

+ RiverQuest, is an extremely safe, quiet, intimate 64′ vessel, certified to carry up to 65 passengers. Its twin catamaran design makes it stable and comfortable. Fully powered by motor.

Departure is at 6:00 pm for either boat.

All departures are subject to weather conditions.

• an overnight stay in one of our charming standard rooms *

• two round-trip tickets for passage aboard Onrust or RiverQuest

* Room upgrades are available for an additional charge.

Add-on: Wine + Cheese Box for Two ~ $42
a 1/2 bottle of Chardonnay, Prosecco, Pinot Noir, or Cabernet Sauvignon (2.5 (5oz) glasses); 2 types of cheese with crackers, grapes, nuts, two small bottles of water. Necessary napkins and utensils.

Additional info: Bring a jacket or sweatshirt as it can be cool out on the River in the evening.
