THINGS TO DO

Whether you are inside the doors of The Griswold Inn, just outside on historic Main Street or exploring the local area, there is an extraordinary variety of Things To Do. Inside the Inn, enjoy our festive atmosphere and nightly entertainment, or one of our scheduled wine tastings, beer dinners, art tours, dinner programs or other special events. Just outside our door, enjoy shopping at the many unique shops on Main Street, a cocktail cruise on the Connecticut River, a ride on the Essex Steam Train and Riverboat, or a day at the Spa of Essex. You may also take in a play, enjoy one of many other activities or just absorb the ambiance and architecture of Essex Village by foot, bicycle or kayak. You will quickly see why Essex was voted the Best Small Town in America. Beyond Essex and throughout the lower Connecticut River Valley and surrounding area, you will find many more activities and attractions, as well as incredible natural beauty. See why the Lower Connecticut River Valley was designated one of the Forty Last Great Places in the Western Hemisphere by the Nature Conservancy. For more detail on Things to Do, click on Events Calendar and Attractions.
