In our historic dining rooms, Executive Chef Jim Gallagher prepares classic American cuisine to perfection in simple, but imaginative ways. His menu showcases fresh seafood, aged beef, and the highest quality chops and poultry. After any meal, Chef Jim’s house-made desserts are a "must."

Our historic dining rooms exude character, charm, and tradition, where one can be as comfortable in casual attire as in "black tie." We are open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.

Every Sunday we serve our famous Hunt Breakfast, a bountiful spread laid out buffet-style. A dining convention started when the British commandeered the Inn during the War of 1812, our Hunt Breakfast remains a popular tradition today.


Thanksgiving ~ Gather with family and friends for a bountiful feast laid out buffet style. In addition to the traditional turkey and all of the trimmings, we feature Roast Sirloin of Beef, Fillet of Sole, Roasted Pork assorted salads, seasonal pies and select desserts! View menu.

In December diners enjoy a unique and festive culinary experience: our Holiday Bill of Fare includes Seasonal Game Selections as well as the Gris Classics and more "traditional" holiday favorites. There's something for everyone's palate! While served by costumed waiters the Royal Court Singers perform seasonal classics tableside! Though this experience may be enjoyed through the 30th, on December 1 only we have an an added bonus: the Coast Guard Idlers, an a cappella group, perform throughout the dining rooms and in our Tap Room. Our December 1 season "opener" has been a favorite tradition for the Idlers and the Gris for many, many years! Festive indeed!

December 1 - Opening Festivities

Dressed for the Season in wreaths, garlands and bows, our month-long festivities begin! Enjoy special performances by the Coast Guard Idlers and the Royal Court Madrigal Singers. Eat, Drink and Be Merry! Reservations recommended, 860.767.1776.
